When should I wash my hair before my appointment?

For best results, I recommend washing your hair the day before your styling session. 'Day-old' hair is much easier to work with than freshly washed hair, which can be soft, flyaway, and harder to hold a style. If you do need to wash it on the day, please ensure it is fully dry for at least one hour before I begin your bridal hair styling. Blow dry your hair as smooth as you are able, and don't use any gel based products or heated tools such as straighteners. They can inhibit further curling with heat.

Can I have any hairstyle I want?

Almost always — yes! As your wedding hairstylist, I’ll always work with your hair type, texture, and condition to create the perfect look for your big day. If there are any limitations, I’ll advise on what’s achievable and help tailor your dream bridal or vintage hairstyle accordingly.

Is there a maximum group size for bridal bookings?

I regularly style large parties and for particularly big groups, I can bring a second experienced stylist to assist — we’ll plan this together in advance. An additional charge applies for extra stylists, but rest assured, anyone I bring will be fully trained and experienced in bridal hairstyling. If this is out of your budget, then the amount of people to be styled may be limited depending on the timing on the day.

Do you travel to wedding venues?

Yes, I’m a mobile wedding hairstylist based in Derby and covering all areas of the Midlands and beyond — including international destinations. I’ll come to your venue to style you and your bridal party on the day. A travel surcharge of 55p per mile applies, and for journeys over an hour away, a minimum booking policy is in place. Just ask for details!

Do I need a bridal hair trial?

Absolutely. A wedding hair trial is essential for the bride to ensure you’re 100% confident in your chosen style. We may try different looks, talk through your timings, and you’ll get to meet me — someone who absolutely LOVES weddings and will be just as excited about your day as you are!

What hair products do you use?

I only use high-quality, professional salon products to ensure your hairstyle holds beautifully all day long — whether you’re going for vintage waves, a classic updo, or a more modern, romantic bridal look.
