Fabulous 1940s dress in a statement red and ivory checkerboard print in a soft, drapey, heavy fabric. Possibly handmade. Has a modern side zip fastening, the original zip had to be replaced. Belt loops but original belt is missing, as is often the case with original 40s dresses. Has the original soft shoulder pads, and just look at that collar! There are a couple of flaws in the weave that are in the actual fabric, as photos attached.
